Yesterday Mandy and I made our annual pilgrimage to the Photography show at the NEC, to see what was hot and exciting this year. And I can report...there was nothing with the WOW factor! Yes of course you can get another camera with another gizmo or megabyte but will it really make a difference to the final picture?
There were plenty of new mirrorless cameras which are great for travel photography but I decided not so great for hanging one of our pro-lenses off as the weight of the lens far outweighed the weight of the camera making it feel terribly unbalanced (like a child in stilletos!). Printers yes, they print, maybe a little more vibrant this year and maybe a little faster. There wasn't much in the way of new technology of revolutionary gadgets or software so for that we were disappointed.
Its good to network and see new suppliers products and this year I was bowled over by the beautiful handcrafted albums that are being made and printed in the UK. Yes...the UK (not Italy!). Our supplier GF Smith has introduced the lovely wedding memory boxes that match the colour of your main wedding album. (see main photo). Inside here you can put your album, USB stick, wedding stationery, cards, favours and wedding charms. It is so much more than an album..so much!
They had what appeared to be every colour in existence, plus a variety of textures from metallics, to wood finishes, leather and faux leather, linen and card.
Nothing too bling and busy, simple and contemporary with embossing in a variety of ways. But what I love most about our supplier is they are one of the largest paper manufacturers in the UK so their skills and expertise is brilliant, you could say they are developers and scientists of stock as well as manufacturers. And, to show that they to can be kind and caring to the environment here are their new colours, the product is made from coffee cups and not a single stain in sight!
Lovely meeting Rachel too, we had spoken so many times on the phone and just brilliant to put a face to a name. Hope you managed to show the world your lovely albums. We will of course continue to show our world your lovely album samples too.
